What first attracted you to Data Analytics?

“What first attracted me to data analytics was the opportunity to uncover insights and patterns hidden within large datasets, allowing for informed decision-making and problem-solving. The prospect of transforming raw data into actionable intelligence fascinated me from the beginning. I’m a pioneer in the Software Business with 38 years of experience”.  

What does your current working day look like?

“My current working day typically involves a mix of tasks such as gathering and cleaning data, performing statistical analysis, building predictive models, and presenting findings to stakeholders and Operational Traders. Additionally, I often collaborate with other teams to integrate data-driven solutions into various business processes, with a lot of focus on Artificial Intelligence”.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in Data Analytics ?

“For someone considering a career in data analytics, I would advise them to focus on developing a strong foundation in statistics, programming, and data visualization.  It’s also crucial to stay curious, continuously learn new techniques and technologies, and actively seek out opportunities to apply analytical skills in real-world scenarios, like the total domain of SQL, Python, and more actually Rust. And also, the deepest focus in the core businesses, like in my case Finance”.

Why is Data Analytics so crucial in business today?

“Data analytics is essential in business today because it empowers organizations to make data-driven decisions, optimize operations, understand customer behavior, and gain a competitive edge in the market. By leveraging data analytics, companies can identify trends, mitigate risks, and seize opportunities for growth and innovation. In the Financial Management and Investment business it is a must”.
